THANK YOU!

I want to thank all who have decided to look into our community of dreamers. We have had almost a dozen issues so far and the response has been great.

From the feedback I have received there is a real interest in being able to interact with each other, share dreams, practice interpreting and connect in a more personal way.

Now to our newsletter. Lets call this a chapter review.

In Issue number 1, 2 and 3 we discussed animals, water and tunnels. We also covered the Biblical meaning, general meaning and personal meanings of items or elements that show up in your dreams. Lets jump in.

Animals are a staple of dreams. I personally see animals in the majority of my dreams. If you see an animal in your dream you need to ask a few questions.

  1. Why am I seeing this animal rather than another animal? Why an Elk not a deer? Why do I see an Ostrich and not and Eagle? Why a little green snake and not a big brown snake? If the snake did not have any defining features you would just remember you saw a snake and not remember that it was tiny and green. Therefore tiny and green are significant.

Point 1: Ask yourself Why this and not that?

  • Why green and not purple, off-white not pure-white, etcetera.

  • Why a pickup truck or minivan or sports car?

  • Why the Ocean and not a lake

There maybe legitimate reasons for these things, You may drive a Pickup truck, love green and live on the ocean. The things that are not staples of your life are more likely to be a clue within your dream, to help with the overall message. Why this and not that?

Point 2: Details you remember from your dreams are there for a reason.

  1. I remember water in my dream but I don’t remember if it was a lake, a stream, a pool or a river. If it were important the Lord would have highlighted it. What is important is that there was water. That information may help in the interpretation.

Point 3: You should not add details to fill in the blanks of the storyline. God wants to lead you with the information He gave you. You may water down His message if you try to help Him out.

  1. I see a raging river. I don’t know where it came from or where it is going or what it has to do with anything else in the dream. If this is the case then consider these things.

  • Look through the Bible for raging rivers and see if there are references you can start with.

  • When you saw the river were you scared?

  • Were you in awe? Where you excited?

  • These emotions might be the important thing. They may give you the meaning of the raging river and why it was in your dream?

Point 4: Look for answers in the Word of God

Point 5: Pay attention to emotions, attitudes and prejudices. They may be opposite reactions to your response while you are awake. These details are very important.

Point 6: One of the hardest things for me was looking beyond the literal of a dream and submitting to the symbolic, the parable or the implied. For me, the more clear the storyline, the harder it was for me to see that the storyline was not the story. What I felt about things in the natural was not the point. What did I feel, sense or experience in the dream and how did I react in the dream.

A Biblical example of this is found in the gospel of Matthew Chapter 21 verses 18 through 22, where Jesus curses the fig tree. This was not about Jesus being ‘Hangry’. Also, it was not about Him showing off or having a bad day, it was a lesson that had nothing to do with figs. This was a lesson about faith.

Matthew 21:18-22 Now in the morning, as He returned to the city, He was hungry. And seeing a fig tree by the road, He came to it and found nothing on it but leaves, and said to it, “Let no fruit grow on you ever again.” Immediately the fig tree withered away. And when the disciples saw it, they marveled, saying, “How did the fig tree wither away so soon?” So Jesus answered and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ it will be done. And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.”

One thing we need to do when analyzing our dreams is to see if there is a lesson to be learned

There are many types of dreams including

  • Warnings to keep you or others from harm.

  • Prophetic dreams that tell of things unknown

  • Dreams to edify. These encourage and give us a pat on the back and let us know we are on the right track, or that the Father is pleased.

  • Lessons to learn: Dreams can teach many things what Lessons can you take away from your dream?

Tunnels and Basements and things under ground.

Tunnels, basements or anything under ground level, all have something in common. They are beneath the surface. You would not know they were there without investigating, looking or having prior knowledge.

As we stated in Issue number three, basements of a family home would contain things hidden beneath the surface of a family or the generations of the family. Likewise, the basement of a church or business would be beneath the surface issues, associated with those buildings.

That is where we start, with what it symbolizes.

Next, we look at what is going on under the surface.

  • Is it dark?

  • Is there nefarious activity?

  • Are there things that are hidden that you are looking for?

  • What type of things do you see or hear or smell?

  • Do you have a sense of wonder?

  • Do you sense danger?

  • Are you scared, disgusted or intrigued?

Sometimes things that have been hidden are good, treasures that you never knew where there. Other times they are secrets that you always wanted an answer to or secrets you wish you never found out.

UNDER THE SURFACE

Now that we know what the basement represents we now need to know what it is referring to. It could be something physically stored or maybe motives or a symptom of a bigger issue.

  • Motives: This “under the surface” message, whether a tunnel or basement may be indicating that someones motives are being hidden from you, and If you look under the surface of what they are saying or doing you may find the answer.

  • Symptoms: We may be looking at a problem that is not really a problem, it is a symptom of a problem. What is under the surface is the real problem.

Basements are a representation of something. That something is hidden or below the surface and needs a second look.

One of the hardest things to do when you have a dream that feels real, is to separate yourself from the dream, and look objectively at what the dream is saying. Meanwhile you must still take into account the emotional aspect of the dream without having it overshadow the other elements.

Anyone willing to share a dream to be analyzed in a future Issue please email it to me.
