This weeks Issue is about names of people in our dreams. Does the name itself have significance?

People we know and people we don’t know, people that are dead long ago, famous people and past presidents alike, all show up in our dreams.

• What is the purpose, why this person and not some other?

• Why did I know that woman's name in the dream when I never met her in real life?

• Why do I have dreams and there is a different person but always with the same name?

Names are important.

• Yes, Sometimes the message is about a specific person that you know.

• Sometimes their name is pointing you to a scripture or a calling on your life.

Joseph, Daniel, John, Phoebe, Debra, these names may be pointing you to a particular book in the Bible or a specific storyline in scripture. They also could be pointing you to something else by researching the meaning of the name itself.

• Joseph - means, God shall add

• Daniel - means, God is Judge

• John - means, God has favored

• Phoebe - means, Radiant or Glowing

• Debra - means Honey Bee or refers to a Religious spirit

These characters in the Bible also had character traits and callings that may be a message to you.

• Maybe you have been lied about, left for dead, mistreated, even imprisoned - Joseph has the same story - Maybe God is telling you something with ‘the Joseph’ in your dream, that can be an encouragement, a warning or lesson for you.

• Phoebe is referred to as a Deacon in the New testament by Paul. Paul tells the saints they should give her whatever she needs and treat her with the respect that her position has earned. Maybe God is saying you are radiant OR maybe that you will be a respected leader in some area of your life. Maybe you are called to be a deacon, a servant of God and man.

• Debra was a Prophetess in Israel, a leader that the commander of the Army would not go into battle without. Debra may be in your dream as a calling for you to step into, a prophetic calling or some type of leadership. Maybe Honey Bee sheds some light on the meaning of your dream. Maybe a religious spirit is being identified in your dream.

There are so many different possibilities when it comes to names in your dreams. When starting out in dream interpretation you want to ask Holy Spirit to see if you get a sense of what these names indicate. If you don’t get any direction initially, throw everything up against the wall and then see if Holy Spirit points you in a direction.;

• Since you are in training He may have you doing a lot of extra leg work to get you into scripture and to get you thinking outside the box.

• Many of us are inside a religious box and can’t think outside of it. Remember Jesus had compassion for the lost, the sick, the orphan and widow and condemned the “religious” spirit that was controlling the masses.

• Break out of the controls.

• Read scripture as if it were the first time.

• What does it say, not what were told it says.

• And if you are constantly seeing others as in a box, you have just identified that you are in another type of box. Different perspectives are good and one tradition doesn’t trump another. God needs us all to come from different perspectives. The ear does not always hear and agree with, what the eye sees. Many times the blind man sees more than the sighted. (Matthew 7:3-5)

Here are a few other names

Nichole means ‘victory to the people’.

Ruth means companion or friend.

• If a Ruth is in your dream I would first look for other clues in the dream that confirm a reference to the book of Ruth in the Bible. Otherwise, look at the meaning of the name and see if that fits with the dream.

• If Boaz is in your dream it is probably certain that you should be starting in the Book of Ruth. (unless of coarse you have an uncle Boaz)

Always remember that Holy Spirit gives the interpretation so ask, then trust your sense and you will learn to know His leading.

I get a lot of Dreams with different pastors that I am affiliated with or friends with. I rarely know what to make of it. Is it their name? Their position? Is it about them personally? Is it their character?

• I have found that sometimes they are representing “the Church” and what it should stand for or how it should conduct itself.

• Other times they are representative of a spiritual guide. Representing an angel or even the Father, Jesus or Holy Spirit.

Famous people or Presidents.

I had a dream awhile back about a house where Teddy Roosevelt stayed. I haven’t broken it down to get a good understanding just yet. I will post it here and ask you for insight.

Dream 1/14/2025

I was either walking or riding something through the fields around a pond and someone says” up there is a house where Teddy Roosevelt stayed.” So I go up a steep embankment on a very narrow path between trees. When I get to the top of the hill, surrounded by trees is the two story colonial home. The windows are boarded up. And it looks like the site where the house was built, was excavated down five or 6 feet to where the house was Walled in by a natural barricade(hedged behind and before Psalm 139). With ease, I am now flying above the grounds and with my phone I am taking an aerial video of the property and the home. I’m looking through the phone and skimming the tops of the trees with my feet. There is an older heavyweight guy, that I guess is with me, and he ends up going in the house so I follow him and I hear the heat kicking on. (This is a house that didn’t have a furnace, but only fireplaces). Then I asked the guy “was that door open?” He said no I had to break in. I said now we are trespassing. I motion to the man to move out of the house and to lock it up. Something about fast-forward.(FF) end of dream.

I have only had a handful of flying dreams in the past 5 years. I have asked for them and then out of the blue months later I will get one. They are the best. But this one definitely has a message. Help me out with your ideas, even if you only have one or two small clues.
