Today lets consider what Windows in Dreams may be telling us!

  • Looking through a window, we obviously see what is on the other side.

  • Looking out the front window of a structure, you’re looking into the future.

  • Looking out of the back window, you are looking into the past.

  • And looking out of the side window you are observing present time.

  • Opening a window allows access to the future, the past or to understand, and make decisions about, things in the present.

Lets look a scripture related to Looking out the Window into the Future.

2 Kings 13:14-16 Elisha had become sick with the illness of which he would die. Then Joash the king of Israel came down to him, and wept over his face, and said, “O my father, my father, the chariots of Israel and their horsemen!” And Elisha said to him, “Take a bow and some arrows.” So he took himself a bow and some arrows. Then he said to the king of Israel, “Put your hand on the bow.” So he put his hand on it, and Elisha put his hands on the king’s hands. And he said, “Open the east window”; and he opened it. Then Elisha said, “Shoot”; and he shot. And he said, “The arrow of the LORD’s deliverance and the arrow of deliverance from Syria; for you must strike the Syrians at Aphek till you have destroyed them.”

What does the direction East represent? In the book of Ezekiel Chapter 47, Ezekiel is watching a man measure the temple. He states that the front of the Temple faces East. (Ezekiel 47:1) There are many more scriptures that talk about the east and you can study them if you are interested. So East is the front of a house or structure. Also, not coincidentally, The angel in Ezekiel 47 is relaying information about the future.

Prophetic declaration through an open Window: Elisha the prophet is having the King wage spiritual war for a future victory by shooting the arrow out of the East window.

A Window into the past: I’m sure you have heard the phrase, “she was looking through a window into the past“ or “that is a door to the past that you do not want to open“.

  • If the front of the house is the future, the back of the house is the past.

Standing by my Side: If someone is standing beside you, they are present. therefor it is the present time. The side window is looking into the present time.

  • Some things just seem logical, some things are wordplays. Dreams are not going to be spelled out, but they’re going to B metaphoric, and many R parables & ewe’s symbols.

  • A single letter might be referencing a word or a memory. A symbol, likewise can represent a word, a memory or just about anything else.

Many dreams have windows.

  • If there is a focus on or through a window in your dream, take note.

This one came to mind right away, so lets look at how God used windows in one dream to link to another dream.

  • Also take note of the window that is closed, that you can look through, and the window that is open, that gives you access.

This is the last portion of the dream from 1/19/2023

We go in and instead of a one room 20 x 20 school house, it is a very large house and all the windows are open facing the front and side.

It is a very nice house and it is very clean. It was also very similar to the house from January 17, 2023 dream which was two days earlier. The big difference is the January 19th dream the windows were open and the January 17th dream the windows were closed. I noticed that it wasn’t overly hot in the house, even though there was no AC turned on. (earlier in the dream it is sweltering hot outside.)

Here is a potion of the January 17th dream.

I saw an advertisement/flyer for a Crimson Tide Party. I wished I could go, but did not have a way in. My friend was not going, which would have made a potential way. Turns out I was staying at the house that was having the party.

Prior to this, I left the house I was staying in, and left too many lights on.

(This next portion of the dream I am at my childhood home, I will skip this because it does not relate directly to the windows but may indeed be the reason for the focus on them later and for the first dream that I posted.)

I got back to the house just before my friend returned home. I had time enough to turn some of the lights off. The house was very brightly lit. There were two lights over the kitchen island that I left on, I turned one off. There were two lights in the corner of the kitchen turned on, I turned one off. There were Extra lights in the living room, I turned some off.

The whole front of the house was windows, looking out through the porch to the yard. There were a few windows on the side of the house as well. There were no windows facing the backyard of the house. The back of the house was not accessed or even thought of.

Also, I will skip the end of the dream.

Lets look at both dreams.

The January 17 dream will be Dream number one.

The January 19th dream will be Dream number 2.

Dream number one has the windows that are in dream number two but they are not open. The focus in this dream, are the lights. Then the focus turns to the front windows.

In Dream number two, which is two days later, the first point of focus is the open windows in the front of the house.

Dream one established the scene and the atmospher. (The expanded space and the abundant lighting.) The second dream establishes the focus. (The open windows.)

In Dream number one I walked into a small, 20 by 20 Church and Christian school. When I got inside it was a very large house with many windows. Therefor the second dream relates to the same Church and School. The conclusion I come to, is that the message is specifically for the Church and the School highlighted in the dream. I also believe this is for the church in general.

My intention here is to point out how to look at a certain element in a dream, in this case a window.

  • Know your scriptures and trust when a verse jumps out at you. Trust that it means you need to take a look at it and see what the Lord might be saying.

  • Holy Spirit gives the interpretation and He will use the Word of God.

  • Holy Spirit will also speak your language whether you are an engineer, a poet, musician, medical doctor or mechanic.

  • He will speak through common cultural phrases, nursery rhymes, geographical locations, history of a person, place or thing and any other way He can get your attention. He knows you.

An open window should bring you right to scripture. (below.)

Two well known “open window” scriptures:

  • Both are about the Lord supplying in abundance.

2 Kings 7:19 The king’s officer had replied, “That couldn’t happen even if the Lord opened the windows of heaven!” And the man of God had said, “You will see it happen with your own eyes, but you won’t be able to eat any of it!”

Malachi 3:10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, “I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test!

These Scriptures talks about things happening in the future and the Windows of Heaven being opened for provision.

In 2 Kings 7:19 there is a famine and the next day, Elisha prophesies, that food will be dirt cheap. (provision.) This provision comes through the “Opened” windows of heaven.

In Malachi 3:10 The message is plain. Don’t rob Me says the Lord and I will pour out abundance in your life. He will do this through the “Windows of Heaven”.

So, this part of the two dreams with the windows, are telling us 2 main things.

  • First, God is opening up insight into the future from where we are presently. (The Closed windows in the first dream)

  • Second, He is opening up the windows of Heaven to provide for His Church and for the equipping of the next generation. (The open windows of the second dream.)(The school represents the next generation.)
