TUNNELS: The Dream we will look at today involves a Tunnel (UNDER the Surface, Hidden from the casual observer)

In this Issue we will look at how we can approach our dreams analytically to get our head wrapped around it and then inviting Holy Spirit to direct our steps in finding an interpretation.

Included is a Worksheet with a flow that may be useful as you get started, and also to refer to down the road when you get stuck.

Open Vision: Leading a group of people in an underground large concrete tunnel/channel. There are people that are scared and following me, there are other leaders in the group in the middle and back of the procession. There are a lot of rough people in the tunnel, homeless, criminals, etc. I am walking strong in the Spirit and when I look back people in the line are disappearing. We walk through a section with gunfire which is when I noticed them disappearing. I was concerned for them because of the gunfire but was not concerned for myself. When I realized they were all gone I went into a passionate hunt. I heard gunfire ahead down a tunnel to my left and took off running toward the gunfire thinking that the people were taken in that direction. This structure and the tunnel to the left had 50 foot ceilings and the main tunnel was 100 feet wide with a channel in the middle, maybe a water way. The tunnel to the left was probably 30 feet wide. (Where there is noise, it is masking truth)

Tunnels - lets understand things below the surface before proceeding

In the dream above we were dealing with a TUNNEL. If a TUNNEL has a significant meaning to the dreamer then that is where they should start.

Tunnels, Basements, floors of a building that are underground, and any other “below the surface” place speak to things that are not visible at first glance, or hidden under the surface.

A little digging (pun intended)may be necessary to get to the truth.

Tunnels: what is the tunnel used for? Sewage, Water, subway(train/transportation), If there is a tunnel in your dream, It is not just a generic tunnel, there is meaning.

Basements of homes have a more personal “under the cover” meaning. If it is a family home passed down from an older relative there maybe something significant dealing with family history that is unknown.

Basements of a business or church or government building speaks of “under the surface” issues with that structure, business, congregation or history.

Building: Maybe this building has 10 stories below ground and your dream is set on floor -8. What then? Most likely we need the dream to tell us the answer to that, but we can’t ignore the fact that it was 8 stories below the surface. This is very significant to the dream.

INTERPRETATION FOR THE ABOVE DREAM

Dream Elements-(Lets start with the main focus of the dream)

1. Large Tunnel (possibly for water)

2. Smaller Tunnel (danger ahead)

3. Leading a group with others (Dreamer feels very protective over this group)

4. Gunshots (deadly threat ahead for people missing)

5. Group disappearing

First Impression

First Impression: The dreamer feels very responsible for those who are following him or those he is leading. (This could be like a mother or father with there child, A teacher who invests everything into there students, or a soldier or police officer who has taken on the responsibility of doing whatever it takes to protect those in their care or in their association. )

The tunnel indicates that there is something under the surface that is not seen. There is also no water flowing but there is a channel for it. This seems like a hidden issue or circumstance where the “the flow of the Spirit” has been cutoff.

Something or someone is hindering this flow and people are being lost because of it.

There is gun fire (danger/fear of loss or death) off in the distance indicating that the people disappearing are in danger of death. Death can mean separation from God. There is also no FLOW (no water flowing in the channel). However there is a path for the flow and I believe the dreamer is called to pray that the flow of Holy Spirit be restored. This is urgent according to the emotions of the dreamer and the quick response without thinking about the danger.

• Warning Dream (I believe this is a warning dream)

• and a Call to Prayer (to Intercessory prayer)

• Also, it might be a warning not to be reactionary but to use the whole body of Christ (there are other leaders present), to council and pray for guidance (this may be better discerned by the dreamer if they know themselves to be reactionary or just the opposite)

Second Look

Here the dreamers input is important.

• someone who never engages or has to think things through before making decisions on moving forward with some sort of action, might be called to follow without question

• A dreamer who is a reactionary and flys off at a whim without thinking, might want to consider wether they are being called to stop and take council

Ask and Listen

Since I don’t know exactly what to pray, the following scriptures came to me as I meditated on this and asked Holy Spirit.

Scripture: 1 Cor 14:15 What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding. 

• Paul says he prays with the Spirit (Not knowing what to pray, he prays in the Spirit)

• Paul says he prays with understanding (so what we do understand, we pray for - People in danger, people lost in captivity and kept from the message of Christ)

• Paul says he sings with the Spirit (Singing comes from the innermost parts as does the spirit)

• Paul says he sings with understanding (Voicing in song, what he understands of the situation. If biblical examples, promises of GOD or scriptures are brought to mind he sings them out in praise and worship)

1 Cor 14:15 What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding. 

• Also thinking about INTERCESSION the following scripture came to me

We also enter into the Courts of Heaven for intercession with praise and worship.

Psalm 100:2,4 ² Serve the LORD with gladness; Come before His presence with singing…⁴ Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise.

The Hebrew word ‘thanksgiving’ is toda it means adoration; specifically, a choir of worshippers)  

INTERPRETATION: The dreamer, regardless of the details as to why people are being lost, is called to intercede. (the dreamer may know the WHY, but it is not necessary) They do this by entering into the presence of God through WORSHIP and through PRAISE, into the Courts of heaven. Going “boldly before the throne of God” to intercede for this situation with and without understanding until he/she feels a lifting of the burden. The “First Impressions” above is what I believe they need to pray into. They should get an immediate sense if this is on target and if there is a burden. (keeping in mind the possibility of the Second Look information.)

Summary of First Impression above: Intercessory warfare for the lost, taking it personally and praying Holy Spirit be restored into this hidden place restoring truth and His presence to flow where it once did. Restoration!

Where there is noise, it is masking Truth! - Lets not forget this last statement in the dream. There is most likely something in the dreamers life that is distracting them from this call or truth. They need to get in a quiet place and block out the noise to discern the TRUTH that is being hidden from them.

AT THIS POINT this may not be satisfying to some. There has to be more. I believe there is more, and I believe God will reveal more as the dreamer is obedient to what is discerned so far in this interpretation.

Also, the dreamer may know exactly what the Lord has been saying to them and this is a confirmation that they need to be bold and courageous and to stop second guessing themselves.

It may be years later that the dreamer realizes how the Lord took them from where they were, to the warrior for the lost that they became, and it started by being obedient to what they understood at the time.

WORDS of Wisdom - If the interpreter has the gift of Words of Wisdom then great insight can be brought out for the dreamer

WORDS of Understanding - Likewise Words of Understanding can break open understanding into the bigger picture

With one or both of these a PROPHETIC word or call can be given to the dreamer that can launch them into a season of great change for Kingdoms sake.

Note: As I went through this process just now, I did not know the outcome of the interpretation or where it would lead.

The scriptures came right to mind as I hit a certain point in the interpretation. I take this as confirmation from the Spirit that I am on the right track.

Now since dreams are personal and designed uniquely for you, the dreamer needs to take it from here.

If the dreamer has access to a more experienced dreamer or even a fellow dreamer, then because we know, that two are better than one and a cord of three… is even better (Ecclesiastes 4:12). And where 2 or 3 are gathered in His name, Jesus is among them. (Matthew 18:20)

Gathering with like minds in HIS name, will lead to a very fruitful dream interpretation, I have experienced this myself went I participated in a weekly zoom call with fellow dreamers. The revelation into our dreams was magnified for all.

Quick tidbit for today

Repetitive dreams - “I keep dreaming the same dream”

If you are getting the same dream over and over again or very similar dreams repeatedly then God is trying to get your attention about something.

There is an example and a direct answer to this question in scripture, as well as, New Testament validation

Genesis 41:32 ‘And the dream was repeated to Pharaoh twice because the thing is established by God, and God will shortly bring it to pass.’

• Not only is the dream established

• but it will be fulfilled soon

Matthew 18:16 But if he will not hear, take with you one or two more, that by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.’

2 Cor 13:1 This will be the third time I am coming to you. “By the mouth of two or three witnesses every word shall be established.

John 8:17,18 It is also written in your law that the testimony of two men is true. I am One who bears witness of Myself, and the Father who sent Me bears witness of Me.”

There is much to learn from studying Joseph and Daniel’s life and dream interpretations.
