Issue #005 Traveling, crashing, going the wrong way?
For All Previous ISSUES click “online” in the TOP RIGHT, scroll to bottom”
Below we have 2 dreams about traveling, crashing and driving in a direction that makes no logical sense, just because we are told to. There is a lot to these dreams but the message at the end is simple.
Travel - Travel is your life’s journey, while the vehicle helps define what that travel looks like. The vehicle reveals much of the purpose and details of that travel.
Travel may be for ministry, pleasure, work or entertainment but it all pertains to where you are going in life, either temporarily, long term or in “this season”
SEASONS of life are a great topic for our coming Bible Nerd Study
Two DREAMS about traveling with family
I am Driving on an unfamiliar country road with family. The GPS says turn right one mile up the road. I am driving in the country with beautiful hills, green grass, red dirt, and off to my right in the distance, there is a new stone retaining wall it looks like it may be still under construction. There’s a 18 wheel truck driving on a dirt path on the retaining wall in the opposite direction to us, and I comment that it looks dangerous. It is one of those trucks with a long bed to haul dirt or debris.
I come up on a hill crest traveling about 55mph and the road is gone. I am now plunging thousands of feet into rocks and wilderness. I can’t even see the bottom.
LATER THAT NIGHT I DREAMT AGAIN
Driving a four-lane highway. I sense that I am to turn around. There is an exit up on the right and I ask “should I exit?” I hear “turn around“. I ask a question “at this next exit? Right here?” there is no reply. Finally I turn around on the highway and go the wrong way against traffic I am in the fast lane (I knew that this was what I was suppose to do). I ask, “Should I stay in the fast lane? Should I avoid traffic?” No reply. I stay in the lane and pass right through oncoming vehicles.
When I wake, this comes to me - “When you follow me, though it makes no sense, I have you. Stay in my will. Listen.“
Fun Dreams right? I will begin to unpack this below
First lets define vehicles and travel before we interpret
What do different types of Vehicles mean in a dream
A sports car, a minivan, a pickup truck, a bus, a plane, a train, bicycle, tricycle
Vehicles
A CAR takes you where you are going.
Where are you going in life?
How are you going?
An old junker that breaks down in your dream means you are going nowhere fast (What else is in the dream that is indicating why you are going nowhere)
A race car means you are going somewhere fast, the rest of the dream will indicate if this is a good thing or a bad thing
A minivan - you are taking along your family on this journey called life, or in ministry.
A pickup truck - you are serving others (ministry of Helps) or moving things. Bringing garbage to the dump and cleaning up your life
Limo - you are moving thru life in style or you will be put in an important position.
Airplane - you are rising high in the spirit. Large airplane - you have a large ministry related to spiritual matters, International ministry.
Train - A Powerful (ground based) ministry uniting regions (denominations), You are right on track. Following the established route before you.
Bus - A bus has more flexibility than a train and can be a larger ministry as well.
Each of these items has alternate meanings especially in light of the rest of the dream. The purpose of posting these definitions is to get your thinking in the direction of what the purpose and meaning of particular items may be in your dreams. The elements that take a prominent role in the dream are the ones to concentrate on. The sub-elements will help color the picture that the main elements reveal.
REMEMBER from Issue #001 dream elements are personal and/or Biblical, please go back and have a look.
There are lots of DREAM Elements in these 2 Dreams so where do we start?
Is there a connection between the 2 dreams?
Many times, dreams that occur in the same night are saying the same thing in different ways or adding more information completing a storyline.
I believe there is a connection between the 2 dreams.
Main Elements
Focusing only on the main theme/elements right now.
Dream1: Traveling with family on a country road
Dream2: traveling (maybe with family) on a 4-lane HIGHway
Dream1: Road disappears from beneath dreamer
Dream2: Dreamer told to turn around into traffic (they knew what was meant, but tried to bargain for the least radical or dangerous or illogical thing by asking if the exit was acceptable).
Lets take a 1st stab at a storyline.
Dream 1: The current direction you are traveling with your family is going to disappear. It is going to feel like the carpet has been pulled out from under you. You did not have a clear destination (using your GPS) though you seemed to be enjoying the ride (admiring the green grass, countryside etc.)
You are close to what you think your destination is (Exit 1 mile ahead) but that is not where I(God) want you.
Dream 2: You will then be in the main stream (4 lane highway) with the rest of the world and you have a decision to make.
Are you going to go along with everyone else?
Are you going to take the easy way with no real destination?
OR will you trust ME
and go against the grain
against your own understanding
and have faith that I have you?
I think that lays a solid groundwork for Connecting the two dreams and a Theme.
Scriptural Confirmation
Here is where scriptures come to mind to confirm what the Spirit is revealing.
As I am typing this, these 2 scriptures popped into my head (I believe less and less in coincidences the more I lean in and listen)
Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;
Isaiah 55:8,9 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.
For Proverbs 3:5 I was not thinking of Verse 6 but see what it says:
Proverbs 3:6 “In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” (Wow, right on message)
Dream2 is clearly going against rational understand. Following HIS leading HE will “direct your paths”
Isaiah 55:8,9 Clearly speaks to this. Our ways and thoughts can not even begin to comprehend how God thinks or works in our lives.
(Continue reading Isaiah chapter 55, Isaiah continues with the blessings that will follow if you allow the LORDs thoughts and ways to be your guide.)
As you can see focusing on the main elements clarifies what the Lord is communicating.
The sub-elements:
Dream1 has a hint for the dreamer in one of the sub-elements that fits with our storyline of Dream2 (i.e. Your going the wrong way)
The 18 wheeler is a construction vehicle, moving ‘stuff’ (dirt, Debris, construction material, etc.)
It is traveling away from the future that does not exist for the driver and family
Clearly there is BUILDING/construction going on in the opposite direction of travel.
It is also elevated on the dirt path above the retaining wall
Things that are elevated in your dreams are above, higher, maybe spiritually discerned from above, or directed from above, on a platform or stage or pedestal.
WALL: A wall is a separator, a limit, a demarcation indicating something different is on the other side of it
The dreamer is thinking that the 18 wheeler is in danger, the wall is new, he is on a “narrow path”, he is on the “edge” and meanwhile the dreamer is plunging into destruction. (Clearly there are NEW things happening in the opposite direction)
Another scripture comes to mind:
Matthew 7:13(and add 14) Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
This is also a confirmation of the DREAM2 idea that the HIGHway is not referencing taking the “high” road, the spiritual road.
It confirms Matthew 7 “…for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.”
A 4 lane highway is a wide ‘gate’ (passage)
MANY go by it - A lot of people all going the same way
And it ultimately leads to destruction
They are following the crowd, not the LORD
And we must listen to the LORD regardless if it makes sense.
NOTE: Typically I would interpret a HIGHWAY as a very positive direction, many scriptures back this up. But clearly the dreamer is told to NOT GO THAT WAY.
More Elements:
Exit: A way out.
A WAY OUT Of a situation
A WAY to get out of going where you know you should but are scared
Turn Around: Repent
The definition of Repent is to turn around, turn from what you are doing, where you are going.
It could also mean I want you to pursue that thing you are scared to pursue
Passing thru oncoming vehicles: references a Spiritual journey as opposed to a natural physical journey.
Since it is not probable that the Lord is saying Drive into traffic
This in most likely that you will have a Spiritual Walk (drive) that goes against the main stream
2 DREAMS with much action and a simple message
Dreams Message: Your way of life, thinking, ‘doing’ is going to disappear overnight, in an instance, with no way forward.
You are not called to go along with the crowd
Turn from that and follow me wether it makes sense or not

What does the Bible say?
As you mature in analyzing your dreams always look for confirmation in the Word of God, sermons, biblical conversations, greetings on the street and everywhere life is lived. God can speak through every and anything, even through unbelievers!
Always ask Holy Spirit to point you to scripture when dealing with something that you can not justify scripturally.
Always ask Holy Spirit in every and any case!
We have found that the more we look for answers in the scripture the more revelation we receive.
(You also see things you never saw and end up being in the scriptures all day every day)
God wants to speak to you through His Word and dreams should point us to His Word
If you allow “your religion” (what you believe the Bible says) to shape your interpretation, God will be limited on what He can reveal to you.
Why?
Because You are more interested in what you think HE is saying or has said than in what HE is actually saying and wanting to reveal.
NEWS FLASH: NOBODY has the mind of God and a completely accurate “theology”
Jeremiah 33:3 ‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’ - He is waiting on you!
