Here is another dream from a dreamers past.

This is a road the dreamer grew up on, a road he use to ride his bike on. Houses, neighbors and details of the landscape are familiar to the dreamer in waking life.

DREAM: (Sleep at 10:20 awake 25 min later) 

I am Riding my bike down Orchard drive, North. My first destination is to get to Wrights house. Then I realize I need to goto a house at the bottom of the hill past the Wrights. It is dusk. There is a car far behind with its lights on. I cannot hear it but I look back on occasion to see how close it is getting. I have an unsettled feeling about it. As I am going down the hill from Wrights I am on the flat by the cattails and it gets real dark. I move to the right of the road; the car is getting closer. I cannot look back because it is so dark I would end up crashing. (The headlights are not piercing through the darkness). Now it is pitch dark, zero light. I am getting close to the driveway so I go off the road to feel the grass under my tires, which will run into the dirt/gravel driveway. I feel the grass then the gravel and I take a right and guess that I am proceeding up the driveway. There is a culvert under the driveway and the driveway thins, I am hoping I am in the center. I make it through.

Suddenly I go from darkness to a translucent light. It was like there was a thick translucent gel with very small air bubbles in it. I went from being concerned about being followed to a fear that was not based in horror or danger but of something unknown. (The light was in the shape of an oval. It was large enough to drive a van through it.) I was trying to lift my hand to see if it would penetrate into it, searching for a clue to what it might be. However, I was unable to move and was unsure of this fear I had never known. I was fascinated, yet frozen from movement. I woke at 10:45 pm and was disturbed for a bit of time before I was able to go back to sleep.

Lets try to summarize this.

• The dreamer is having something from his past revealed to him

• There is a threat from his past still affecting him 

• He is ignoring it the best he can 

• He is concerned but not in fear

• Going off road (off course, off the usual path or off the easy path)

• He hits a gravel driveway (a new road, an untested road, a road less traveled - i.e. gravel)

• He is struck with an incredible fear of the unknown - a light - an oval door or portal or something.

Preliminary Interpretation

Clearly something from the DREAMERS past is catching up with him. He can no longer ignore it.

• His only Option is to get off the road he is traveling and TRUST that IN THE DARK, God will direct his paths (There are many scriptures about God directing our paths, I’ll list some below)

• Stoping is not an option (the past threat)

• Following the narrow path (thinning road over culvert) leads to life (The Way, the Truth and the Life)

• The Dreamer also has a Heavenly encounter (The Light)

The dreamer has enough information to know what the Lord is saying. However, he may not know what in the past, is catching up with him. Though without Holy Spirit helping us and giving the interpretation only the dreamer would be able to figure this out. Secondary elements can help him with this. (And we may also get a clue)

Secondary Dream Elements:

Wrights: The last name Wright means Carpenter

Cattails: can mean PEACE or PROSPERITY but also “Treacherous Tales”(Lies of the enemy. John 10:10)

Grass: Can mean NEW GROWTH or HAPPINESS or INCREASE

Gravel: NEW PATH

Driveway: Arrived, Reached destination

The Headlights NOT EMITTING LIGHT: Darkness CANNOT emit light.

So with the SECONDARY ELEMENTS the story line gets filled in a little more.

• The DREAMER is seeking to go the way of The CARPENTER (The Way, the truth and the Life. John 14:6)

• Ahead there is Peace and Prosperity with potentially Treacherous tales to avoid (Cattails)

• Though he can’t see it (pitch dark) he needs to FEEL for (feel his tires hit the grass, then gravel) the NEW PATH (Proverbs 3:6)

• Trusting God on a Narrow Road when you can not see your way forward.

• Reaching his destination means trusting in GOD to lead him in the darkness onto this NEW PATH to arrive at his destination (Driveway)

• What is following him does not have the ability to emit light, it is DEEP DARKNESS. (John 1:5; 1 John 1:5-9 and many more)

There are so many scriptures that pop out as I go through this interpretation but I like this one for this dream.

Isaiah 60:2 For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the LORD will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you.(We have both DEEP DARKNESS overcoming the Dreamer and The Glory of the Lord Shining before him. Praise God!)

INTERPRETATION

The DREAMER is following the path of the Carpenter and is being warned that the darkness from his past is catching up with him. However, he can overcome his past by trusting in the Lord and letting Him direct his paths. This is the path to HIS Glory!

Promised scriptures from PRELIMINARY Interpretation

2 Sam 22:29 “For You are my lamp, O LORD; The LORD shall enlighten my darkness.

Luke 1:79 To give light to those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, To guide our feet into the way of peace.”

Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.

Suggestion for the dreamer: Assuming you are recording your dreams, go back to old dreams and fast forward through more recent dreams to see if there is anything that stands out from your past that may give you more specifics.

It also may be that the Lord just wants you to know He is with you in this current darkness He is bringing a Great Light! - Isaiah 9:2

Isaiah 9:2 The people who walked in darkness Have seen a great light; Those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, Upon them a LIGHT has shined.

Reading the Bible and recording Dream elements

As I read the Bible I take note of things that seem to define terms.

I create my own dream element notebook for reference.

Example: we spoke in a previous issue about a LION.

• As we read our daily scriptures (yes you need to form this habit if you have not) we see that there is a reference to a lion and we take note if it is signifying something that it may represent.

• We highlighted the scripture about the LION of Judah referencing Jesus Christ and the lion that comes to destroy being a reference to satan.

When you read with this thought in the back of your mind you start seeing things in scripture that you never saw before. It sparks interest and takes you on an exciting journey

Here are a few recent scriptures that you might put in your dream element note book.

When you see things in your dreams like

• Fine Silver

• A Tornado

• Smoke in your eyes

• Humble Clothing

• Flourishing gardens or fields

• A Fortress

• A Tree Growing next to the water

The WORD of God already has these things figured out for you, Unless you have a Personal Interpretation (Issue #001) that overrides it, the WORD is the answer.
